KUALA LUMPUR: A man has been arrested in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, over the shooting incident at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 yesterday.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the 38-year-old suspect was arrested at about 3 pm today.

He said the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director or the Kelantan chief police would hold a press conference on the arrest soon.

"Yes, I can confirm that an arrest has been made," he told Bernama when contacted.

In the 1.20 am incident, a man fired two shots at his wife at the entrance of the arrival hall but missed, and one shot hit her bodyguard in the abdomen instead.

The bodyguard was admitted to hospital and reported to be in stable condition.

Police had earlier said that they were looking for Hafizul Harawi to assist in the investigation into the case.
